WEGENER(R) Partners with Muzak to Launch New Customizable In-Store Music and Messaging Experience
Jun 04, 2008 (08:06 AM EDT)
DULUTH, Ga., June 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wegener Corporation , a leading provider of equipment for television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, announces that Muzak's new Encompass LE2 digital music delivery service is based upon a powerful, end-to-end solution that incorporates satellite media distribution, media players, and content management technology by WEGENER.
Muzak's new Encompass LE2 service is the industry's leading solution and combines the speed and quality of satellite media delivery with the flexibility and control of an online management system. It is planned for deployment to tens of thousands of locations throughout the United States.
"Business owners and managers, especially in small business settings, can't always be at work," said Bob Finigan, vice president of product and marketing for Muzak. "And now you don't have to be on-site to get the most from your music and messaging. Encompass LE2 allows users to customize their in-store experience in a tremendous number of ways from home, while traveling ... anywhere they can get an Internet connection," Finigan said.
With Encompass LE2, Muzak's business customers can view and update their music program selections, scheduling, and preferences instantly using a web- based user interface. They can also create multiple zones of music throughout their business space; customize schedules and playlists according to business types, regions, promotions, or other criteria; as well as upload and schedule in-store messages anytime. The music and messaging play from the same media player, which also stores back-up music to ensure 100-percent uptime during inclement weather.
"We're extremely pleased to expand our multi-million, multi-year contract with Muzak," stated Ned L. Mountain, President and COO of WEGENER. "Encompass LE2 is the latest in a line of satellite-enabled technologies we have provided to Muzak, giving their customers complete control over their in-store music experience and messaging to promote the desired mood and energy levels for their business environments."
