CGI announces Momentum(R) 6.2 FSIO certification

FAIRFAX, VA, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - CGI Federal, a wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. , today announced that the latest release of its financial, procurement and budget formulation software solution for the U.S. federal government, Momentum(R) 6.2, received official certification from the Office of Management and Budget's Financial Systems Integration Office (FSIO) at the General Services Administration. Over 100 U.S. federal government organizations currently use Momentum.
Momentum 6.2 is offered as a commercial off the shelf (COTS) product, and as a hosted managed services solution in CGI's Shared Service Center for agencies seeking to implement under the Federal Financial Management Line of Business (FMLOB) initiative. FSIO's certification of Momentum 6.2 ensures that it meets all mandatory federal financial system requirements and can be deployed by federal government agencies as part of the FMLOB program. Momentum 6.2 is one of only seven FSIO certified software products.

Some of the features of Momentum 6.2 include: - Enabling standardization - Momentum 6.2 provides a number of features in support of OMB initiatives to increase standardization and interoperability across the federal government such as Web services and enhanced service oriented architecture (SOA), evolving CGAC standards, and government-wide accounting initiatives. - Reducing Cost and Risk - The latest release of Momentum includes the Rapid Momentum Implementation methodology that distills CGI's 30 years of implementation expertise into an implementation toolkit which includes a configured Momentum database to reduce costs and facilitate agency standardization. - Improving performance and efficiency - Momentum 6.2 is integrated with FedBid, the market-leading reverse auction site allowing agencies to streamline and maximize value for commodity buys. It also incorporates a configurable user experience to increase the efficiency of each user. - Protection of Personally Identifiable Identification (PII)- Momentum has enhancements such as distributed system security, and utilities to purge all PII from non-production environments.
