HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CIBER, Inc. , in partnership with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC), has successfully completed the second phase of a three-phase SAP(R) ERP implementation -- on time and on budget.

An SAP Services Partner for SAP Public Services Accounts, CIBER won the project in May 2006, and is managing the PTC's business process re-engineering and system implementation project, which PTC named PRIDE: "PTC Readiness for an Integrated Decision-making Enterprise." As operator of the nation's first super highway, PTC has been a leader and innovator in the toll road industry by adopting a long-term strategic vision to continually improve its operational performance.

For all phases of the PRIDE project, CIBER has served as the prime contractor. The first phase was completed 30 days ahead of schedule in February 2007. For the recently completed second phase, CIBER implemented SAP ERP Human Capital Management and Payroll functionality. The third and final phase is scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2008 and will integrate the business functions of financials, materials management, supplier relationship management, plant maintenance, project systems, electronic document management and business intelligence.

"PTC had multiple information technology (IT) systems which relied on outdated technology and operated as stand-alone systems," said Ed Burns, President of CIBER's State and Local Government Solutions Practice. "Their critical historical and operational data was separated across many platforms. With project PRIDE, we are helping PTC consolidate this information into one system to simplify trend analysis and decision-making activities, and increase business efficiency."

"The PRIDE project is much more than a system upgrade for PTC. It is the catalyst for business improvement that enables PTC to increase the level of service to our traveling customers," said George Hatalowich, PTC's Chief Operating Officer. "The implementation was truly a partnership between CIBER and PTC, and we appreciate the leadership CIBER has demonstrated throughout the project."

"Success of this project is absolutely founded on the relationship between CIBER and PTC. The partnership approach has created an environment that enables success at all levels within both organizations," said Dave Siebert, Senior Vice President, CIBER Enterprise Solutions.

Jeff Mesaric, PTC Chief Information Officer, said "The PRIDE project has taken our organizational silos and has begun to move us toward a true enterprise approach to our business. More work must be done to achieve ultimate success, but we are confident that we have relevant and accurate decision-making data for our operational department leaders. Throughout the project we have insisted that the data in our new SAP system represent 'one version of the truth' and we believe we have accomplished that goal."

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Turnpike is a key transportation route within Pennsylvania and is a vital link in the highway network of the eastern U.S. The Turnpike is 536 miles long with 60 fare collection facilities, 20 service plazas, two welcome centers, 21 maintenance buildings, eight police barracks and five tunnels.
