SonicWALL Helps Olive Crest Provide Services for Abused Children
Nov 02, 2007 (08:11 AM EDT)

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SonicWALL, Inc. and Gold Medallion channel partner, The Integration Works, have teamed to provide secure networking services and fundraising support for Olive Crest, a non-profit organization providing homes and support for abused children from birth to age 22.

James Carter, chief technology officer of Santa Ana-based networking and security solutions provider The Integration Works, has been involved with Olive Crest for more than a decade, providing IT services for the organization's 20 West Coast locations. "I'm a strong believer and supporter of the work done through the organization. That commitment was recently strengthened when my wife and I decided to adopt two Olive Crest children. I was happy to get involved with this event to raise money for such an important cause."

Olive Crest relies on a SonicWALL secure infrastructure including firewalls and content filtering technology to protect its network and help ensure that children under its care are protected from inappropriate Web materials or contact with individuals who prey on children. Olive Crest has more than 200 networked computers scattered across the West, from computers used by its administrative staff to those utilized by children in group homes or on Olive Crest's three school campuses. SonicWALL technology is deployed across the entire network to protect against Internet threats and secure remote and site-to-site communication.

SonicWALL was a key sponsor of Olive Crest's October 20th 'Harvesting Hope for Kids' Wine Tasting fundraiser ( ) in Newport Beach, which drew over 300 attendees and helped the organization raise over $200.000. The company also fielded a team of employees who set aside technology for a night to pour wines and encourage bidding at a wine auction, silent auction and raffle.

"We're appreciative of the ongoing support from SonicWALL and The Integration Works in providing us with affordable content filtering technology that helps us protect these vulnerable children," said Louise Hammond-Williams, IT director at Olive Crest. "Having them both volunteer their time to help make this fundraising event a success demonstrated their willingness to go above and beyond to support our cause."
