The Open Group Names Len Fehskens Vice President and Global Professional Lead for Enterprise Architecture

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium focused on open standards and global interoperability within and between enterprises, today announced the appointment of Len Fehskens to vice president and global professional lead for Enterprise Architecture. With over 40 years of experience in the IT industry as both an individual practitioner and manager, Mr. Fehskens will play an integral role in further developing The Open Group's contributions to the field of Enterprise Architecture, including the organization's professional association, The Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects (AOGEA).

Mr. Fehskens will be responsible for overseeing all architecture-related activities across The Open Group, including professional certification, conferences and other relevant open standards utilized around the world. He will also drive efforts for The Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects, a professional association for enterprise and IT architects. Additionally, Mr. Fehskens will lead The Architecture Forum, which has developed and is evolving TOGAF, a comprehensive enterprise architecture framework that enables organizations to achieve the right balance between IT efficiency and business innovation. He will report to The Open Group president and CEO, Allen Brown.

Mr. Fehskens has extensive experience in the IT industry, within both product engineering and professional services business units. He most recently led the Worldwide Architecture Profession Office at Hewlett-Packard's Services business unit, and has previously worked for Compaq, Digital Equipment Corporation, Prime Computer and Data General Corporation. He majored in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is the lead inventor on six software patents for the object-oriented management of distributed systems.
