Orange County selects CGI'S built-for-government AMS advantage ERP solution for upgrade

FAIRFAX, VA, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - CGI Group Inc. announced today that its web-based, AMS Advantage(R) 3 enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution has been selected by Orange County, California, for the upgrade of its finance and purchasing information systems, collectively known as CAPS (County-wide Accounting and Personnel System). The 5-year contract is valued at up to US$17.5 million.
CGI's AMS Advantage ERP solution was selected for the upgrade of CAPS after a strategic assessment conducted by the Gartner Group, who was engaged by the County to review alternative solutions. Orange County recognized CGI's AMS Advantage solution as providing the best value and functional fit for the County.
CAPS is a vital component of Orange County's infrastructure supporting critical operations such as financial planning, budget development, cost collection, procurement, vendor and trust fund payments, and payroll and personnel record administration. CAPS is currently licensed to the County by CGI. The upgrade to the AMS Advantage 3 web-based solution will bring enhanced efficiency, improved controls and reporting, streamlined workflow and processes as well as cost savings to the County.

The first phase of the project will integrate financial management functions, including budgetary controls, payment processing, grant management and a common requisition and receiving system. The contract includes a 2-year implementation, a multi-year Platinum Maintenance program that provides full support of all customizations and 24/7 support with a dedicated, onsite response team. Phase two of the project includes the implementation of the performance budgeting and vendor self service application modules.
