During Oracle's most recent fiscal year, Oracle Fusion Middleware gained market share as a result of significant customer adoption; was recognized as a "Leader" by independent analyst firms; and received numerous independent accolades and awards. Industry Influencers Evaluate Oracle Fusion Middleware
Leading research firms have recognized Oracle Fusion Middleware, and its components, for market momentum and presence, features and functionality, and customer successes. Specifically, in its "Forrester Wave: Application Server Platforms, Q3 2007" report(i), Forrester Research recognized Oracle as a Leader across the board in its evaluation of application server platforms. In the report, Forrester's Vice President John R. Rymer states, "This is the result of the broad range of development, deployment, and management features built into its Oracle Application Server and Oracle SOA Suite; its strong strategy; and its growing market presence."
Independent analyst firm Gartner positioned components of Oracle Fusion Middleware in the Leaders Quadrant for seven Magic Quadrants tracking the middleware market. These include Application Infrastructure(ii), Application Infrastructure for Composite Application Projects(iii), Application Infrastructure for Back-End Application Integration Projects(iv), Application Infrastructure for New Service-Oriented Business Applications Projects(v), Business Intelligence Platforms(vi), Horizontal Portal Products(vii) and Web Access Management(viii).
In its "Market Share: Portal, Process and Middleware Software, Worldwide 2004-2006"(ix) report, Gartner stated, "Oracle demonstrated the industry's fastest growing middleware offering in 2006 based on worldwide total software revenues -- growing 45 percent year over year -- because of market demand for its SOA Suite, Enterprise Service Bus, Application Server and Portal offerings, which leverage its enormous installed base of database and applications."(x) Additionally, with a growth rate of 103 percent, Gartner stated that Oracle was one of the fastest growing of all vendors included in its "2006 Worldwide Security Software Market Share"(xi) report.
