ASHBURN, Va., July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Brainware, Inc., whose IDC- distiller(TM) solution automates high-volume document capture and processing, has named Mark Evans as its new Eastern U.S. Regional Sales Manager.
Evans' appointment is part of an aggressive expansion of Brainware's global sales and support network, driven by continued and explosive growth in demand for Brainware's automated document processing solution. Recent analysis projects a near doubling of the worldwide document capture markets in the next three years, with an anticipated market size of nearly $2.5 billion by 2010 (1). Brainware executives are rapidly recruiting experienced software sales executives to meet this demand.
"Mark's successes in key commercial and government markets will help to extend the use of Brainware's solutions for high-volume document processing," says Carl Mergele, Brainware CEO. "He will also play an instrumental role in building our U.S. sales force and expanding our network of OEM, VAR and other indirect sales alliances."
Evans has more than 30 years of experience in software and IT solutions sales. During a 20-year career at IBM, he held a variety of direct sales, sales advisory, and deal structuring positions, closing multi-million-dollar deals in the banking, healthcare, and government sectors. Following IBM, Evans held a series of progressively senior positions at CAS Severn, a provider of IT solutions to business, government, and education customers. During his 10- year tenure there, Evans helped increase the company's sales by 50% and extend its presence in several key vertical industries.
At Brainware, Evans will oversee direct and channel/partner sales activities in the Eastern U.S., coordinating the activities of Brainware's field account executives and internal telesales programs. He will particularly focus on extending Brainware's growing presence in the energy, banking/financial, manufacturing, retail, and government sectors.
"I look forward to furthering Brainware's continued growth," Evans says. "Ours is truly a 'document-agnostic' solution to the growing problem of high- volume document capture and processing. Our head-to-head successes against our competitors make me absolutely confident in our continued success."
