Clayton County (GA) Public School System Chooses Spectrum K12 School Solutions for Special Education and IEP Management
Jun 19, 2007 (10:06 AM EDT)

TOWSON, Md., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Clayton County Public School System, which comprises 61 schools and nearly 51,000 students in Georgia, has adopted the use of Spectrum K12 School Solutions Inc.'s special education IEP management software product ENCORE!(R).

According to county special education administrators, ENCORE will provide Clayton with a powerful and effective system of administrative reporting and tracking for students who need special services. ENCORE! helps districts dramatically improve special education management by eliminating mistakes in IEP compliance, saving training time, eliminating duplicate data entry, providing ease of access to centralized information and - ultimately - saving hundreds of dollars per student.

Tamera Foley, director of special education for secondary schools and Brenda Keegan, director of special education for elementary schools, said ENCORE will significantly increase the system's capability. Said Foley, "Clayton County selected ENCORE because no other special education IEP management software provides the accountability, ease of use and accessibility to data that we need. ENCORE's automatic compliance checking and reporting will virtually eliminate manual verification of IEPs. ENCORE will also provide us with instantaneous access to more and better data that, among other things, will help us optimize our caseloads. With the data and reminders that ENCORE provides, we will be able to increase compliance in all areas."

Keegan said, "Since ENCORE is web-based, our teachers will be able to access data from anywhere while also letting multiple team members collaboratively work on a single IEP." She added, "It is reassuring to our teachers that - even with all of its powerful features - ENCORE is so easy to use. Our teachers can focus on teaching, not technology."
