Samsung and Reef Point Sign Agreement to Accelerate the Delivery of IP-Base Station Solutions to Wireless Operators

BURLINGTON, Mass., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Brett White today announced a distribution agreement providing for the combination of Reef Point's IP-Base Station Gateway with Samsung's UbiCell(TM) Personal CDMA Base Station. It will allow operators to dramatically improve coverage to their mobile subscribers at home and at work.
The agreement brings together Reef Point, a leader in fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) border platforms and solutions, and Samsung, a leader and innovator of mobile technology, to provide a complete enhanced coverage solution for operators to offer subscribers. Under the agreement, Reef Point will supply its IP-Base Station Gateway to Samsung as the secured access gateway connecting UbiCell subscribers to mobile networks.
In addition to providing secured access connectivity over its Universal Convergence Gateway (UCG) platform, Reef Point will provide technical training and customer support services to Samsung and its customers, as well as assistance and co-marketing support through Reef Point's recently announced Partner Edge Program.
In the dynamic and growing telecommunications market, wireline and wireless operators are under increasing pressure to deliver fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) solutions that connect devices to networks, and networks to networks, enabling high quality voice, data, video and multimedia sessions to flow predictably, efficiently, securely and reliably.
