Unitrends Recognized as One of America's Leading Job Creators by Inc. Magazine's Hire Power Awards for the Second Consecutive Year

COLUMBIA, S.C., Oct. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Unitrends, the leading provider of all-in-one backup, archiving, instant recovery and disaster recovery solutions, today announced that is has been featured in the 2nd annual Inc. Hire Power Awards, which recognize the private businesses that have generated the most jobs in the past 18 months. Unitrends generated 134 jobs from Jan.1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, placing it among the top two private business job creators within South Carolina and the top 11 within the software industry.
2012 marked the best year in Unitrends' 24-year history, with 88 percent growth 2012 over 2011. 2013 has followed suit with Q3 marking the company's 19th consecutive quarter of record growth. To keep pace with its explosive growth, Unitrends has been actively hiring across all functional areas for the past several years. The company has hired 125 employees since Jan. 1, 2013 alone and shows no signs of slowing anytime soon.

Unitrends' Inc. Hire Power Award recognition comes on the heels of its 2013 Inc. 500|5000 placement. The Inc. 500|5000 is an exclusive ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Unitrends climbed 842 spots from the 2012 Inc. 500|5000 to land at No. 1427 on this year's list, with three-year sales growth of 281 percent.
Unitrends is among the 437 private growth companies that are Hire Power Award honorees, leading the way in creating more American jobs. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that only 222,000 full-time jobs were added in 2012. The honorees of Inc. magazine's Hire Power Awards created 69,182 jobs between Jan. 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013, illustrating that these companies hold the key to restoring America's economic vitality.
