Jul 28, 2013 (04:07 PM EDT)

LOS ANGELES, July 28, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Bipartisan Council for American Security met in Washington DC on July 23rd to hold its first ever conference. The fledgling nonprofit organization was conceived to strengthen American national defense and international presence, which the coalition believes can thereby increase global stability. Elliott Broidy, chairman of the advisory board, offered a prelude of how the BCAS intends to achieve such objectives in his opening remarks.

He introduced a multifaceted strategy that aims to support robust funding for national defense programs, renewed vigor in geopolitical diplomacy and solidifying economic interests abroad. The net results would provide increased leverage to bring American values of democracy and further human rights throughout the world.  Elliott Broidy, Chairman of Threat Deterrence LLC, also served on the Homeland Security Advisory Council from 2005-2009.

Former Senators Joe Lieberman and Scott Brown also debuted in their roles as BCAS honorary co-chairmen. In a joint statement, the pair noted the symbiotic effects that securing America's borders and promoting democratic values can have on disparate viewpoints.

This sentiment was substantiated by investment manager Elliott Broidy, who alluded to the varying backgrounds of political, non-profit and economic industry leaders in attendance. He stressed that the collaboration of diverse minds is needed to establish a new voice on American defense issues.

The BCAS website notes that Elliott Broidy's philanthropic, private industry and homeland security experience embodies the eclectic perspectives that the group seeks.
