SafeData by IntraNext Systems receives PCI certification
May 15, 2013 (02:05 PM EDT)

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., May 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- IntraNext Systems announced today that its data security application, SafeData, has been awarded a PCI certification. The highly coveted Payment Application – Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) was developed to address the ever challenging credit card security environment. PA-DSS protects consumers' identity and financial data from growing cyber and insider threats. SafeData focuses on helping the call center industry do just that. With fraud on the rise and fines for breaches becoming more common, call centers are tasked with ensuring they are doing everything they can to protect the sensitive information of the customer. SafeData will now get them one step closer to having a fully compliant environment. Testing and validation was performed by Coalfire, the leading PCI auditor in the US.

The Payment Card Industry (PCI) recently addressed specific risks of fraud associated with the call center industry. Credit Card information in call centers is a lucrative target for criminals today and the risk is growing. SafeData was designed to remedy those risks and enhance trust between the customer and call center agent. By preventing the call center agent from seeing or hearing the credit card number or other sensitive information, the customer and call center agent feel a greater sense of security. IntraNext Systems, a Denver based software company servicing the Call Center industry, initially released SafeData in December 2012.  IntraNext CEO and Co-founder, Patrick Brown, said, "New Payment Card Industry standards are directed specifically at the call center industry. SafeData, our PCI validated solution, secures the customer – agent experience while satisfying these payment security standards."

SafeData is currently in production supporting over 500 call center agents at WOW!, a provider of internet, cable, and home phone services. Michael Furst, Senior Vice President, Customer Care at WOW! in Colorado Springs, said, "SafeData enables a large piece of PCI compliance and is an invaluable tool to our operations."
