Assuming laughter is indeed the most efficacious pain reliever, a Philadelphia-area firm is asking closet wits to concoct their own tonic for the epidemic of financial misdeeds and investor panic sweeping Wall Street.

In a tribute to WorldCom's record bankruptcy filing and "all the pervasive prevarication" leading up to it, investment and PR firm Gregory FCA Communications is sponsoring a contest in which entrants are asked to rewrite the latest pre-scandal earnings release from a scandal-tainted company in the voice of their favorite author.
