Samsung plans to release in March a mobile phone that lets you zap, slap or tickle the person you're talking to over the phone, according to New Scientist.
Two of the phones are required to make the magic, called "haptics," work. The phones have "vibrotactile" motors that shake, buzz or jolt the phones themselves, with special software to control the motors.
When you send a text message with the Samsung phone, you can choose a "sensation" from a menu to travel along with the message.
While talking on the phone, if you don't like what you hear, you can send a sensation that feels like a slap in the face.
If haptic technology catches on as a popular feature in mobile phones, the magazine speculates, watch out! Spammers could jump on the bandwagon and start using sensations in unsolicited advertising.
