Nov 27, 2006 (11:11 AM EST) Debuts Listings-Focused Beta Site

Read the Original Article at InformationWeek has launched in beta a redesign of the site that focuses on home listings and doesn't require visitors to register before using its tools.

The overhaul covers only the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas and is expected to roll out nationally next year. Unlike the current version of the site, which requires registration and tries to link potential buyers with Realtors, the new site is focused more on searching listings.

"The new beta design gives customers what they've told us they want, which is free access to home listings without having to register their contact information," Kimberly Gorsuch-Bradbury, senior VP and general manager of, said in a statement released Monday.

In helping consumers find a home that meets their criteria, the beta site offers search results based on property type, price range, number of beds and baths, or square footage. Other features include photos of the outside and inside of homes, which are overlayed on aerial or street maps. Shoppers can have a real estate agent contact them by clicking a "request a call" link and filling out a short form with their name and phone number.

The search capabilities are powered by The search engine and are owned by IAC/InterActiveCorp.
