Assurant Names Michael J. Peninger CFO

Specialty insurer Assurant, Inc. (New York), has named Michael J. Peninger, who has been serving as interim chief financial officer, executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective March 15. Peninger will succeed P. Bruce Camacho who has resigned in order to pursue other opportunities, according to an Assurant source. Camacho will assist Assurant as a consultant for a 12-month transition period.
Prior to taking on the interim CFO role in July 2007, Peninger had been president and CEO of Assurant Employee Benefits since Jan. 1999. Assurant also named John S. Roberts president and chief executive officer, Assurant Employee Benefits, effective March 15. Mr. Roberts had assumed these roles on an interim basis when Mr. Peninger was appointed Assurant's interim CFO. |
